Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup crushed candy canes
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Stir in the white chocolate chips and crushed candy canes.
- Drop by rounded tablespoons onto the prepared baking sheets.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown.
- Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For softer cookies, slightly underbake them. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. You can also freeze the dough for up to 2 months; thaw before baking. For a richer flavor, use high-quality white chocolate chips.
