Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- 1 (16 ounce) container sour cream
- 1 (16 ounce) jar salsa
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup chopped green onions
- 1/4 cup sliced black olives
- Optional toppings: diced tomatoes, jalapeños
- Tortilla chips, for serving
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain any excess grease, then stir in the taco seasoning and cook for another 2-3 minutes, until heated through. Set aside to cool slightly.
- In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Stir in the sour cream until well combined and creamy.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly in the bottom of a serving dish or platter.
- Spread the salsa evenly over the cream cheese layer.
- Sprinkle the seasoned ground beef over the salsa layer.
- Top with shredded cheddar cheese, green onions, and black olives. Add any additional toppings you like, such as diced tomatoes or jalapeños.
- Serve immediately with tortilla chips, or chill for later.
Notes
For best results, use full-fat cream cheese and sour cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. You can customize the toppings to your liking – try adding guacamole, pico de gallo, or a drizzle of ranch dressing. This dip is also delicious served warm! Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
