- 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 can (21 oz) strawberry pie filling
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth and creamy.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly in the prepared baking pan.
- Spoon the strawberry pie filling evenly over the cream cheese layer.
- Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the strawberry pie filling.
- Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the cake mix.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use brown butter instead of melted butter. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra touch.
