- 1 box (15.25 oz) white cake mix
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Red food coloring
- Green food coloring
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar, for coating
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- Divide the dough in half. Add red food coloring to one half and green food coloring to the other half. Mix until the color is evenly distributed.
- Roll the dough into 1-inch balls. Generously coat each ball in powdered sugar.
- Place the cookies on the prepared baking sheets, leaving some space between them.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the tops are cracked.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For best results, use gel food coloring. Store in an airtight container at room temperature. You can also freeze the unbaked cookie dough balls for later use.
