Ingredients
- 12 slider buns
- 1 pound thinly sliced roast beef
- 12 slices provolone cheese
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons cold water
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the slider buns horizontally, keeping the bottom buns attached as a sheet.
- In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, and pepper.
- Brush the butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of both the top and bottom slider buns.
- Layer the roast beef evenly over the bottom buns, followed by the provolone cheese slices.
- Place the top buns over the cheese and beef. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the buns are golden brown.
- While the sliders are baking, prepare the au jus. In a saucepan, bring the beef broth to a simmer.
- In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and cold water to create a slurry. Gradually whisk the slurry into the simmering beef broth.
- Simmer the au jus for 2-3 minutes, or until slightly thickened. Remove from heat.
- Once the sliders are done, slice them apart. Serve immediately with the warm au jus for dipping.
Notes
For extra flavor, sear the roast beef in a skillet before assembling the sliders. You can also add caramelized onions for a sweeter flavor profile. Store leftover au jus in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Serve the sliders immediately for best results, but they can be reheated in the oven at 300°F (150°C) for a few minutes.
