  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 12 sliders 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 slider buns
  • 1 pound thinly sliced roast beef
  • 12 slices provolone cheese
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons cold water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the slider buns horizontally, keeping the bottom buns attached as a sheet.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, and pepper.
  3. Brush the butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of both the top and bottom slider buns.
  4. Layer the roast beef evenly over the bottom buns, followed by the provolone cheese slices.
  5. Place the top buns over the cheese and beef. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the buns are golden brown.
  6. While the sliders are baking, prepare the au jus. In a saucepan, bring the beef broth to a simmer.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and cold water to create a slurry. Gradually whisk the slurry into the simmering beef broth.
  8. Simmer the au jus for 2-3 minutes, or until slightly thickened. Remove from heat.
  9. Once the sliders are done, slice them apart. Serve immediately with the warm au jus for dipping.

Notes

For extra flavor, sear the roast beef in a skillet before assembling the sliders. You can also add caramelized onions for a sweeter flavor profile. Store leftover au jus in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Serve the sliders immediately for best results, but they can be reheated in the oven at 300°F (150°C) for a few minutes.
