Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound Cajun-style chicken sausage, sliced
- 1 small head green cabbage, shredded
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the sliced Cajun chicken sausage and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the sausage from the skillet and set aside.
- Add butter to the skillet. Add the shredded cabbage and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until the cabbage is tender-crisp, about 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with salt and pepper.
- Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth. Bring to a simmer, then stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and Cajun seasoning. Cook until the sauce has thickened slightly, about 3-5 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Return the cooked Cajun chicken sausage to the skillet and stir to combine with the cabbage and Alfredo sauce. Heat through for another 2-3 minutes.
- Serve the Creamy Keto Cajun Sausage Cabbage Alfredo immediately. Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired.
Notes
For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the Alfredo sauce. You can substitute the chicken sausage with turkey or beef sausage if preferred. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stovetop or in the microwave. For extra flavor, you can add a squeeze of lemon juice just before serving.
