Prepare for a dessert revelation! This insanely easy Oreo dump cake takes mere minutes to assemble but delivers maximum chocolatey satisfaction. Layers of crushed Oreos, a rich cake mix, and a creamy, buttery base bake into a warm, gooey, spoon-worthy treat that’s perfect for any occasion – no mixer required!

  • Total Time: 55 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (15.3 oz) package vanilla or white cake mix (dry)
  • 1 (14.3 oz) package Oreo cookies, divided
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Optional: Vanilla ice cream or whipped topping, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish. Crush about 2/3 of the Oreo cookies into coarse crumbs (a food processor works great, or place in a plastic bag and crush with a rolling pin). Chop the remaining 1/3 of the Oreos into larger chunks.
  2. Spread the crushed Oreo crumbs evenly over the bottom of the prepared baking dish. This forms your delightful crust.
  3. Evenly sprinkle the dry cake mix over the Oreo layer in the baking dish. Do not stir or mix.
  4. In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter, whole milk, sweetened condensed milk, and vanilla extract until well combined. This is your luscious liquid base.
  5. Carefully and evenly pour the liquid mixture over the dry cake mix. Try to cover as much of the dry mix as possible. The liquid will seep down and hydrate the cake mix as it bakes.
  6. Scatter the chopped Oreo chunks over the top of the wet cake mixture. This adds extra pockets of chocolatey goodness.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cake is set, though still wonderfully gooey in the center. A toothpick inserted into the center should not come out completely clean, as this is a dump cake, not a traditional cake.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool for at least 15-20 minutes before serving. This allows the cake to set slightly and become easier to scoop. Serve warm with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped topping for an extra treat!

Notes

Store any leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. You can gently reheat individual servings in the microwave. For a fun twist, try using chocolate cake mix instead of vanilla, or add a layer of chocolate chips before baking. This recipe is incredibly adaptable!
