  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground lamb
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 pre-made pizza dough (12-inch)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced red onion
  • 1/2 cup tzatziki sauce (recipe below)
  • Optional: Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
  • For the Tzatziki Sauce:
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cucumber, grated and squeezed dry
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C). While oven preheats, prepare the tzatziki sauce. In a small bowl, combine Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground lamb and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain any excess grease. Stir in oregano, thyme, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for another minute.
  3. Stretch or roll out the pizza dough to a 12-inch circle. Place it on a pizza stone or baking sheet.
  4. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over the pizza dough. Top with cooked ground lamb, sliced tomatoes, and red onion.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Remove from oven and let cool slightly. Drizzle generously with tzatziki sauce. Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired. Slice and serve immediately.

Notes

For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the ground lamb mixture. You can also use store-bought tzatziki sauce to save time. Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or olives to customize your pizza. For a crispier crust, pre-bake the pizza dough for 5 minutes before adding the toppings.
