  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (1 ounce) package dry ranch dressing mix
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill weed
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 (16 ounce) package saltine crackers

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the ranch dressing mix, garlic powder, onion powder, dill weed, red pepper flakes, and vegetable oil until well combined.
  3. Add the saltine crackers to the bowl and gently toss to coat them evenly with the spice mixture. Ensure all crackers are well coated.
  4. Spread the coated crackers in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 15 minutes, turning halfway through, until the crackers are lightly toasted and the spices are fragrant. Watch closely to prevent burning.
  6. Remove from the oven and let the Alabama Fire Crackers cool completely on the baking sheet before serving or storing.

Notes

For extra heat, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the spice mixture. Store leftover crackers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. These crackers are best enjoyed within a few days for optimal freshness and crispness. They make a great addition to charcuterie boards, or enjoy them as a snack with your favorite dip.
