Ingredients
- 1 (1 ounce) package dry ranch dressing mix
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried dill weed
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 (16 ounce) package saltine crackers
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the ranch dressing mix, garlic powder, onion powder, dill weed, red pepper flakes, and vegetable oil until well combined.
- Add the saltine crackers to the bowl and gently toss to coat them evenly with the spice mixture. Ensure all crackers are well coated.
- Spread the coated crackers in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 15 minutes, turning halfway through, until the crackers are lightly toasted and the spices are fragrant. Watch closely to prevent burning.
- Remove from the oven and let the Alabama Fire Crackers cool completely on the baking sheet before serving or storing.
Notes
For extra heat, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the spice mixture. Store leftover crackers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. These crackers are best enjoyed within a few days for optimal freshness and crispness. They make a great addition to charcuterie boards, or enjoy them as a snack with your favorite dip.
